Next Meeting

The next NETWO meeting will be at Applebee's in Mt. Pleasant on September 9, 2010 starting at 5:30 p.m. We have a private room, so you may need to ask where the writers are.

Come join us. Directions are given below.

We'll have a critique session, so bring something to read (but , of course, you don't have to). And we'll discuss plans for the free October memoir workshop. So, come add your thoughts and suggestions.

Each Saturday (except for the conference Saturday, or those on or next to a major holiday), some memmbers of NETWO meet at the Pizza Inn in Pittsburg for lunch, arriving between 11:30 and 12 noon, and leaving between 1:30 and 2:00. It is very informal. Generally no business is discussed. Talk may be on books, writing, or the day's events. Occasionally, someone will read a poem or a short selection. Basically, it's strictly social. The Pizza Inn provides NETWO a private room. If you're in the area on Saturday, drop by and visit.

The Pizza Inn in on U.S. 271, about a mile north of Pittsburg, on the east side of the highway.

If you are not familiar with this location of Applebees, here are directions.

If you are coming from the south, take U.S. 271 Business through Mt. Pleasant, past the Titus Memorial Hospital and up to Interstate 30. Cross I 30 and immediately on the north side, you will see Applebee's on the right side of U.S. 271. You will actually turn off on FM 2152 (Green Hill Road) for about 100 yards to get to the Applebee"s parking lot.

From east or west, take Interstate 30 to the U.S. 271 Business exit, that's Exit 162. Go North and the first road on the east side will be FM 2152 (Green Hill Road). Take that road about 100 yards to Applebe's. Actually, Aplebee's is clearly visible from the U.S. 271 bridge over the interstate.

We'll try to start the serious stuff at 5:30, so if you want to eat, come a bit early, grab a bite to eat, and visit with other writers.. A number of members usually gather around 5:00. Come join us!

General Information on NETWO's monthly meetings

A short business meeting begins at 5:30 pm. A program follows the business meeting. This may consist of a critique session, a speaker, a tutorial, or a workshop. It's a good idea to bring a something to read -- maybe 10 - 12 minutes long.

If there is not a specific location for the next meeting given at the top of this page, call Galand at 903-572-0580 or Bryan Freeman 903-588-2593 or check back here if the next meeting is still a couple of weeks away. Sometimes NETWO may meet at another site - say for a special party or celebration.

If you join NETWO, you will receive a monthly newsletter which will always give the location of the next meeting, as well as information on NETWO activities and other writer-related activities, contests, and usually some samples of writing from members.

NETWO is always looking for new members. If you have an interest in writing, come visit a meeting and see how friendly and helpful NETWO members can be.
