Northeast Texas Writers’ Organization (NETWO) believes that no one should be excluded because of an inability to pay. In that light, NETWO awards scholarships or partial scholarships to various events to those who need them. With regard to the writer's conference held April 23 and 24, 2010, NETWO will use these guidelines.

• All applications for scholarships for the Spring Conference must be received by NETWO (either mailed to: NETWO, P.O. Box 411, Winfield, TX 75493 -- or e-mailed to: netwomail@netwo.org) by April 10.
• As this is a "writing conference", all applicants must submit their request in writing, and each must include a writing sample as described below.
• The Georgia Henson Scholarship, to cover the cost of regular conference registration and the awards dinner, will be awarded to an applicant picked by the selection committee based on a (typewritten) one page or less description of why the person wishes to attend the conference.
• The Marilyn Paris Scholarship, to cover the cost of regular conference registration and the awards dinner, will be awarded to the high school student applicant picked by the selection committee based on a one page or less (typewritten) description of why the person wishes to attend the conference.
• Other scholarships or partial scholarships will be awarded to applicants picked by the selection committee, based on a one page or less (typewritten) description of why the person wishes to attend the conference and why a scholarship is needed. Multiple awards may be made, if appropriate in the opinion of the committee members.
• Decisions made by the committee are final and no explanation of these decisions, or names of committee members, will be given.
